Pedestrian Safety Trainings for Law Enforcement

is a TxDOT Safety grant funded training program designed to update Law Enforcement Agencies on laws that impact pedestrian safety.

We are now scheduling trainings for this summer for law enforcement agencies across the state.

The Training Will Cover:

  • Changes to the Texas transportation code that impact pedestrian safety.
  • Applying a Safe Systems approach to making our streets and roads safe to give all Texans the freedom to walk or use personal mobility devices.
  • How high speeds impact the safety of every road user, especially pedestrians, and what to do about it.
  • The importance of data and mapping in shaping our approaches to pedestrian safety and enforcement.

These trainings are available free to Texas law enforcement and partnering agencies as 2-hour in-person trainings, with eligibility for 2 hours of TCOLE credit.
